This information sheet has been compiled to help youth dance groups raise funds for their activities. The information provided falls under two main headings: applying to funding bodies and fundraising activities.

Youth dance England/Dance South West STRIDE! Programme
YDE Stride! is an annual leadership and development programme aimed at young people wishing to explore the many career opportunities available within the dance sector.
The scheme involves
- An action Packed residential week
- An experienced mentor in dance
- A 10 day work placement in the dance sector.
Its aim is to help participants get a head start with their career in dance.
For people aged 14 to 19 years old.

FUNDING: PRINCE'S TRUST COMMUNITY CASH AWARDS
Community Cash Awards are grants of up to £5,000 to help young people set up a project that will benefit their community. Applications welcome from anyone who is aged 14 to 16 and is in school, but struggling or aged 16 to 25, unemployed or working less than 16 hours a week.
Projects must be run and managed by people between the ages of 14 and 25; Clearly benefit the local community, benefit the people running the project and be a new or developing project. Funding of up to £1,000 is available for 14 to 16 year olds. Funding of up to £5,000 is available for those aged 16 to 25. Call free on 0800 842842, online at www.princes-trust.org.uk
FUNDING: Princes Trust: Business Programme
This programme supports young people to start their own businesses. In order to be eligible for support you must be aged 18 - 30, unemployed or working 16 hours a week (or less) and have a business idea. The Prince's Trust can offer one-to-one business support, training in bookkeeping and marketing and financial help. The Trust can offer loans of up to £4000 and grants up to £1000 to help you get started and can provide you with a business mentor for up to 2 years. Unfortunately, The Princes Trust are unable to support anyone in full-time education, however, if you are a graduate who has been unemployed for at least 6 months, we might be able to help. FUNDING: G.A.P – Graduate Apprentice Passport - Dance South West
As part of Dance South West Fresh programme we have launched the Graduate Apprentice Passport – an opportunity for dance graduates to get support for work based placements that are particularly appropriate for the next step in their own personal and professional development. This placement can be very broad and covers such areas as performance, education, community and dance management to name a few.
