Recent Projects:
Work with bharata natyam and young children with Devon early years arts initiative, Carousel. Work with dance and text, looking at songs by Leon Rosselson and poetry by Leah Thorn.
I am a classical bharata natyam dancer, a dance style I have practised
since my childhood in South India. Between 2001 and 2007, I worked in
London as a performer and workshop leader for organisations including
Mavin Khoo Dance, Live Music Now!, Akademi ( South Asian Dance in the
UK), Cultural Co-operation and Vayu Naidu Company. I also ran
workshops in schools for Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company.
Having taken a break from working to have two children, I have started
back running workshops for young children as part of the Devon
Carousel Project. I am committed to outreach work in schools and
community groups and am interested in performance, particularly
involving collaboration with artists from other dance
backgrounds/disciplines.
